JACOB WAMMACK'S WILL RECORDED I, Jacob Wammack of the County of McMinn, & State of Tennessee, do make and publish this, my las tWill and Testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me at any time made. 1st - I will my body to the grave and dust and my soul to God who gave it. I also direct my funeral expenses and all my debts to be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money I may die possessed of or any come into the hands of my executors. Secondly - Whereas on the Thirteenth day of October One-Thousand eight hundren & forty five, a family of negroes which I raised was valued & divided among my children and all sworn to stand by the valuation, and said valuation amounted to Two thousand five hundred & eighty seven dollars and fifty cents; making for each one of my heirs two hundred and eighty seven dollars & fifty cents a piece, for I had at that time in the above date nine heirs, and they have all received their above named shares. Said valuation was made by James Lillard, William Lillard and Emanuel Haney, on oath to do justice between my children. Said family of negroes descended to my heirs by a will from their aunt Testimony Wills to their mother & the heirs of her body; and they have got them on their value according to the tinor of sd (said) will. So in addition to what my bloved(sic) daughter Dessy Moore has already received, I will and bequeath to her five dollars out of any money I many die psosessed of. Thirdly - I give and bequeath to my children Jacob Wammack Jr, John Wammack, Daniel Wammack, Susan Rivers, Mary Powel, Sarah Elder & Narcissus Lucas, all my personal property, such as horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, household and kitchen furniture to be equally divided amongst them as that is about all I possess as I have sold and deeded all my land away; of my negro woman Tilday to go among my children where she will; also a negro woman, Kity, to go there she choses(sic). Also fourthly and lastly - I nominate and appoint my sons John Wammack and Daniel Wammack (line appears to be missing that finishes this, which was probably indicating them as executors of the will).
