I'm sure you've heard of this place. It has figured prominently in numerous genealogical features. But in those presentations it is always portrayed as a desolate place, dangerous, overrun by critters and Womacks. I thought most WOMACKs would be in cages, or inaccessible.
I must admit, when I was told that WOMACK LAND was more than just a fictional land populated by people in ill-fitting hand woven clothes; I was in disbelief. I was sent literature on the accommodations and attractions there and I was convinced. The majority of WOMACKs are quite friendly and hospitable once they are convinced you are not after their money, wives or daughters. |
Although WOMACKs are real, they do not want the fact to become too well known, fearing that they would then be overrun by people. So. plan your trip to WOMACK LAND in secret; and be prepared to be blindfolded during most of your trip.
But it will be worth it!! WOMACK LAND will be the best vacation you'll ever have. Being able to walk where your ancestors walked will be the greatest thrill of all. This author, above photo, will surely return again to the land of wonder and mystery called WOMACK LAND. |
